TEMTEX Tape Product Types

Depending on which muscle the TEMTEX Kinesiology Tape is applied to, the size (width) and shape of the tape will vary based on gender and the size of your muscles. The width of the tape is 2.5cm/3.75cm/5cm/7.5cm. However, 5cm tape is most commonly used. For example, if you want to use a narrow tape (2.5cm), you can cut the 5cm tape in half. If you need to use a wider tape, you can use two pieces of 5cm tape side by side.

TEMTEX Principle

TEMTEX taping therapy uses elastic tape that stretches similarly to the skin, stretching the muscles while the tape is applied without stretching. If the patient returns to the normal position after applying the tape with the muscles stretched, the place where the tape is applied will be wrinkled. This creates a space between the muscles and the skin, which increases blood and lymph circulation. The pain is reduced by mechanical stimulation and increasing circulation.

In chronic pain, exercise with tape applied strengthens the muscles to maximize the therapeutic effect. In principle, the tape is applied along the grain of the muscle by finding the beginning and end of the muscle. Even if the direction of the muscle is ignored, it is effective in reducing pain. According to the Gate Control Theory, the shrinking nature of elastic tape reduces pain by inhibiting the transmitting nerves when sustained mechanical stimulation is applied. For example, even if taping is different from the direction of the frontal muscles during a headache, it can be seen that it is somewhat effective due to continuous mechanical stimulation.

TEMTEX Precautions

Instead of sticking it anywhere on the painful area partially, you should accurately find the beginning and end of the painful muscle and attach it according to the size and shape of the muscle. (See below)

Since the length of muscles varies depending on gender and age, first clean the skin in the area you want to attach, and then cut the tape according to the length of the muscle with the muscle stretched as much as possible.

After attaching the tape, return to normal position. If the tape wrinkles, it has been applied correctly.

Make sure to peel the outer seal as you apply the tape onto the skin. If you peel off the outer paper attached to the tape beforehand, it may stick together. Making it more difficult.

The muscles should be stretched, but the tape should never be stretched. When the tape is applied while stretched, the pores narrow, which is easy to cause skin diseases.

If you feel uncomfortable after taping, remove it and reattach it. People with constitutionally weak skin should apply it for about a day and do not use it if the skin becomes irritated.

The tape will not peel off while bathing with the tape on. However, make sure to dry the taping area with a blow dryer and towel afterwards.

The tape is usually applied for 2-3 days, and if the pain remains, it is re-tapped after a day or so.

If you need to do strenuous exercise, applying tape before exercise can prevent muscle damage, and for high-touch exercise, it is effective when combined with sports taping.

Sweating can cause itching. It is recommended to remove after exercising and reapply.
